Empathy Grows
As someone with chronic health problems, it occurs to me, and I'm sure to many others in the same situation - that life in the coronavirus pandemic of 2020, has not seen much change in our lives.
We are use to isolation due to our conditions causing us either to not feel well enough to go out, or for some, not to be able to.
We, that are at home, due to chronic health problems, often only get a view of a "normal" life through our televisions or social media.
This is a very isolating and lonely position to be in, by no choice of our own.
No one wishes to be alone for extended periods of time, nor do we wish this on others.
Maybe during this unprecedented time in our history, others will come out of isolation with an empathy that they may not have had otherwise.
So many wonderful things are occurring in the United States and across the globe, which I pray will continue long after the pandemic has subsided and life returns to normal.

Excellent article and perspective. Yes, out of this tragic series of events, we all hope to gain more empathy and pray for understanding of the struggles that go on in others lives every day.
ReplyDeleteYes I'm only on 12 days of this and to think we have to make it to April 30 or longer seems daunting! It does give a better understanding of what people with chronic pain or conditions regularly go through. Hopefully in the end, everyone will have more empathy and appreciate all of the everyday things we get to do in life.
