Patriots in
Crisis
People around the world are coming together in a time
of crisis.
During the unprecedented outbreak of the 2020
Coronavirus, Americans, Europeans, Asians etc, are showing solidarity, kindness, and patriotism.
This morning, on the news, I heard a story of a
neighborhood (as all schools are closed now), going outside each school morning
to say the pledge of allegiance to the American flag.
There are people all over the world, in their homes or
apartments - coming together to belt out songs with one another, as they try
and lift the spirits of others and themselves, while in quarantine.
Nursing homes are being visited differently these
days, and maybe more so - as loved ones stand or sit outside of their windows
communicating with signs, hand motions and an outpouring of love for our
greatest generation.
Musicians around the globe are performing in different
venues now due to "social distancing," by giving small performances
in their living rooms and sharing them on social media.
Factories, that previously produced other
products, are now converting their
equipment to make much needed masks, ventilators, gowns, gloves, hand
sanitizers and many other necessities during this pandemic.
Doctors and nurses, that have been in retirement, are coming back into hospitals to help the
overwhelmed medical systems fight, what is possibly the greatest fight in
modern times.
More church services around the world, are now being streamed, as Christian's and faiths all around the world, share in worship, pray and cry out for strength and hope.
The world is changing. It is during the most trying
times in history, that mankind has shown it's true strength, its patriotism and
exposed its greatest needs - the need for God, love for one another, and love of country.
This may be our biggest test. Let us all rise to the
occasion, and therefore, become who we were created to be.
